Rev. Peter Winstead
Pastor and Founder
Rev. Peter Winstead Sr. was born to Evelyn Winstead on January 12, 1950. Rev. Peter Winstead was a natural born leader.  At the age of
nine, he formed his first choir, by gathering neighborhood children on his back steps and teaching them songs.

During his teen years, Winstead directed various choirs in his church.  He was responsible for teaching and playing a different song every
Sunday.  By the age of 19, Winstead formed the 100+ voice-recording ensemble, The United Youth for Christ Choir. United Youth for Christ
performed at many churches and concert halls and recorded two albums.
Their hit songs included -- One More Time and Signs and Wonders

In 1978, Rev. Winstead began The Fellowship Choir. A group of 30 close friends.  That same year he recorded the album Jesus Never Gave
Up on Me.  Which included such hit songs as  I Can Feel the Spirit Moving, Yes, I Really Love the Lord, and You Thought About Me.

Also in 1978, Peter Winstead became Rev. Peter Winstead. That same year, he began holding services in
the basement of his one family home in Newark, NJ, thus beginning the Fellowship Church.

Today the Fellowship Church is located in the Downtown Arts District of Newark, NJ. Rev. Winstead has directed the New Jersey University
(formerly Jersey City College) Choir, Seton Hall University Choir, and a host of local church choirs.
